I'm so sorry - I know exactly what you've gone through  / Lacey Harris-Willoby (mama to angel Landan Harris )
I am truly sorry for the loss of your son . . . what a brave battle he fought with meningitis.

My 3yr old son Landan Harris died 11/16/06 from meningococcal meningits . . . also it was in his blood stream. Landan fought a brave battle for 23hrs. If he lived he would have also had many amputations. But his little heart couldn't take anymore & stopped beating. I cried reading about your son because I know exaclty what you saw when your son was in the hospital . . . it's horrible what this does to their bodies. And us as mothers not being about to take away this for them. It's not something we can just put a band-aid over.

Your son is such a handsome man & seems like he was a wonderful father!! I hope he's found my little Landan in heaven & is playing with him like he would one of his own boys.

How can this happen to such a wonderful and young man? I too lost my son and he left 3 young children. Michael died of a blood clot after open heart surgery. I don't think he would have been as brave as Luis. I truly believe he was scared to death.. Literally.

I too share your pain 5 years age my only child took his own life.My son was 30 he left behind 3 sons .My son was my life I still havent begun to live my life again I have him on this web his name is John Edward Goodson .I pray that you can find peace the only thing that keeps me going is shareing my story with others and hope I can help someone before it is too late . My son seemed like everything was ok with him then one day while I was work he took his life no note no sign just left with out saying good bye. Wow what a strong and beautiful person junior was. His story has filled my heart . My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I lost my brother three years ago and as I read about your love and relationship with your brother, I can honestly relate. There are time when you get so mad at them and want to knock them out but they always have a way of making you laugh and forgive. I think your brother was truly a gift from God above, a best friend who is with you now even though you may not be able to feel it.

I happened upon this site unintentionally but when I read about his story and his life and saw all that he had overcome, I wept. He fought so hard and it seems so unfair that he had to leave when his family loved him so much. His illness terrifies me, it seems so cruel. I wonder how you all found the strength to stand by his side through it all. You must be a strong family. It seems like everyone's worst nightmare but somehow you were able to post his pictures and story without bitterness, that's such an inspiration. God has obviously given your family exactly what it needs to overcome any obstacle. You've been blessed but the blessing was not without pain. Your story will never be forgotten by me and I consider Junior a true hero. He made it to the wedding and those moments will be cherished forever by those who were there and those privileged enough to see them on a memorial site.
